Sunderland Harriers are delighted to be welcoming the Northern Men’s 12-Stage and Women’s 6-Stage road relays back to Silksworth Sports Complex for the first time in nine years. 2016 will be the fifth time this event has been hosted by the club, which stepped in after local works in Stockport rendered the original course unusable.

Silksworth lies just a 10 minute drive from the A19, and around 20 from the A1(M), and although limited, there is parking at the complex with an overflow car park at the nearby Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis and Wellness Centre, where a café serving light refreshments can also be found. Carpooling is recommended, however.

Registration, along with Changing and Shower facilities will be situated in the pavilion at the Silksworth ski slope.
The course itself winds through the complex adjacent to the ski slope on picturesque traffic-free, spectator-friendly paths, with each leg starting and finishing on the athletics track. There are two short but significant hills on the route, which measures approximately 2 miles. The four Long Legs (1, 3, 5 and 7) will be run over two laps of the circuit, totalling approximately 4 miles.

Club tents will be accommodated on the grass infield of the track, and in the surrounding area, which also affords excellent views of the course.
