Running 24:49 for 5 miles is fairly impressive in anyone's book, running 24:49 for 5 miles at the age of 45 is astonishingly impressive. That is what Ian Hudspith of Morpeth Harriers achieved when finishing 5th in the recent Alsager 5 road race, to continue a rich vein of form which has lasted the best part of three decades!
Ian, a former clubmate and close friend of Albert James, is on Wearside this Tuesday (February 16th) and will be visiting Silksworth and training on the track with the senior men's group. Prior to the session Ian will be happy to discuss his stellar career and answer any questions the Harriers, male or female, would like to put to him about his longevity, training, motivation, diet, memories...anything. Ian will be at the club for the Q&A around 6.30pm so make sure you get along and don't miss out on some fascinating insights into distance running at the highest level.
