BMAF NATIONAL RELAYS CHAMPIONSHIPS, 28TH APRIL 2018 SUTTON COLDFIELD

On an overcast and drizzly day in Sutton park Sunderland Harriers Women’s over 35 team continued their good form in this competition finishing a competitive 6th following last year’s 5th place.

The ladies, the only North East club representatives in any of the age groups or categories ran to form on a course changed from previous years reverting to the old 12 stage route. This incorporated a testing loop soon after the start followed by the strength sapping Sutton Park Hill, turning at the top for a long undulating straight before a sharp right and downhill section towards the finish, the last 150 metres via yet another short bank.

Jacqui Etherington led the team out returning in 3rd place (19.38) followed by Colleen Compson, 7th (22.15), Vicky Haswell 6th (20.23) and finally Nikki Woodward, 6th (19.56).

The squad, including supporters then retired to a nearby Costa to analyse the performance over tea, coffee and cake. The full results are available in the appropriate section of the website, great running girls and thank you for your efforts.
