SECOND VICTORY IN QUICK SUCCESSION AS SUNDERLAND HARRIER OLIVER JAMES WINS ANGEL VIEW RACE

Sunderland Harrier Oliver James made it two wins in the space of five days in the Low Fell Running Club’s Angel View race at Gateshead.

Following up his comfortable victory in the Lambton Run, he looked just as at ease in this multi terrain race over approximately 5.3 miles

Penshaw Hill race winner Kurt Heron led the record field of 196 runners during the early stages, with James and Tyne Bridge Harrier James Dunce in tow.

Second Victory In Quick Succession As Sunderland Harrier Oliver James Wins Angel View Race.

After just over two miles was reached, Oliver made his planned move and stretched out up the steep incline, rapidly dropping Heron from his determined challenge, while Dunce was now slipping further back.

At the finish, James clocked 27min 40sec, with his margin of victory lengthening to 44 seconds over Heron, with Dunce finishing exactly one minute behind the winner.

James said: “I enjoyed the race - it was good course with some steep inclines. I felt comfortable and could have offered more if challenged.’’....
