As a member of the Durham Association of Boys and Girls Clubs (DABGC), Sunderland Harriers have the rare opportunity of Club competition for younger athletes.

Normally we would be invited to enter the DABGC County Championships giving the Club a chance to win Age Group trophies, and athletes the chance to win individual medals and of representing County Durham in the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs (NABGC) National Championships.

This year Covid 19 has forced NABGC to organise the Championships in a different form, that of the UK Club Athletics Championships where the Club can still win Age Group trophies, and athletes the chance to win individual medals . This unique Championship is to be held at Middlesbrough Sports Village on the 12th June 2021 starting at 11:00.

We have been invited to enter a team made up of U11,U13,U15,U17, and U20 squads. In addition to a 4x100m relay in each age group and gender the events covered are:-
U11 - 75m, 200m, 800m, HJ, LJ, and SP.
U13 - 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, HJ, LJ, and SP.
U15 - 100m, 200m, 300m(boys only), 800m, 1500m, HJ, LJ, SP, DT, and JT.
U17 - 100m, 200m, 300m(women only), 400m(men only), 800m, 1500m, HJ, LJ, TJ(men only), SP, DT, and JT.
U20 - 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m(men only), HJ, LJ, TJ(men only), SP, DT, and JT.

Clubs are restricted to entering one competitor in each individual event, of which there are 88 should you wish to count. However U11 competitors may enter two events excluding the relay; U13s, U15s, and U17s three, and U20s four.

Points mean prizes, so we are looking for as many athletes as possible who wish to represent Sunderland Harriers, hopefully in as many events as possible. Additionally any parents, guardians, and anyone else who can officiate either Qualified or Unqualified are invited to offer their time.
